Flying Schools

Discover the exhilaration and satisfaction of learning to fly a light aircraft over some stunning Scottish scenery. You could achieve your first solo flight in around 12 hours, and the minimum experience required to gain the National Private Pilots licence (NPPL) is only 35 hours flying or 45 hours for the JAR (European) PPL.
Once you have been issued with your PPL you can share the pleasure of flying with your family and friends within the local area, and perhaps visit other airfields throughout Scotland such as Mull, Oban, Tiree or Inverness to name but a few.

Thanks to Lovat Fraser from Tayside Aviation for the supplying us with the facts.

Want to get started?

It is easy to book a trial flying lesson to have an assesment of your flying aptitude, ensure that flying is for you, and allow you to check out the flying school. Your first lesson can either be an hour or half an hour, and most subsequent lessons are around an hour each.

Where to go:

You're obviously going to need an airoplane so a flying school is probably the best place to start! Here are a couple of the best.
