With scenery similar to what you would find in New Zealand or the Alps, its not surprising that sky diving is Scotland's most popular airborne sport. You'll be aiming for around 10,000- 12,000ft, hitting 120mph as you plunge for 30 sec or more (it feels much longer).

Want to get started?
Beginners can get started by jumping solo with a static line parachute attached to the aircraft deploying automatically. To get the freefall adrenaline surge though most people choose to tandem dive with an instructor.
Where to go:
For those serious about progressing beyond those first jumps, most clubs and centres now prefer the easier to control static line parachutes to the traditional round, as they allow jumps from greater altitude, but intensive one day accelerated freefall courses are sometimes available. Expensive to learn initially, parachuting's costs drop significantly with experience.
