Bodyboarding is one of the fastest growing watersports in Europe, over half of Spain, France and Portugal¿s wave riders use a bodyboard not a surfboard! Why? Because its cheaper to get your first board, its easy to use public transport, bodyboarders consistently catch more waves and most importantly it¿s a lot of fun! The sky's the limit literally as you progress with acrobatics and deep tubes common place.

East Coast, Pease Bay
About 40 min's East of Edinburgh. This is a good starting point for bodyboarders with steep consistent waves in the middle of the beach at high tide.
East Coast, Coldingham
15 min's further down the road from Pease. Stunning little beach with great water quality. Good through the tides but best at high. *Excellent for beginners with rental gear available from the hotel and a café on the beach.
East Coast, North Berwick East beach
Great bodyboarding wave in the right conditions, fast and barrels, great for intermediates and experts.
North East, Aberdeen
Can provide good barrelling waves ideal for bodyboarding during spring and Autumn.
North East, Thurso
About 7 hours from Edinburgh, it's one of the best surf locations in Scotland. There are excellent bodyboard waves at Brims Ness and Thurso East ¿ experts only!
West Coast, Machrihanish
This beautiful sandy beach is good for bodyboarders when big, if small try the short ferry to Isla which provides excellent waves at twice the size.
West Coast, Tiree
Great powerful waves for bodyboarding.
West Coast, Lewis
A ferry ride over from Ullapool or Skye, it¿s a breathtaking journey. Lewis provides heavy waves that are excellent for intermediate or expert bodyboarding.
