West of Scotland, West Coast
Troon and the Barassie is about 40 minutes west of Glasgow near Ayr. With large shallow beaches this is one of several excellent teaching locations. There are several shops in the area supporting your equipment needs and providing qualified tuition.
North East of Scotland, North East
Driving further North just past Aberdeen you will come to one of the largest un-interrupted stretches of golden sand in the UK. The beach runs for 11 miles from the Don estuary to Newburgh. Balmedie is a large open beach where the winds are generally cross shore to give perfect teaching and playing conditions.Travel North to St Combs and Fraserburgh having stopped off at the horse shoe shaped golden sands of Cruden Bay. You will be spoilt for choice with more sandy locations and terrific surf breaks. Then move along the north coast passing Lossiemouth, Findhorn bay, Burghhead and finally stopping for a couple of days to enjoy the sand bar at Nairn and some flat water blasting.
Islands of Scotland, Islands
If you decide to travel right around the coast you will find numerous small bays to play in but once you get to the west coast a trip to Tiree to play with the boys from Wild Diamond in a place where the wind nearly always blows and you can always find a beach with the right conditions. We haven¿t even mentioned the delights of the Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland where those that have dared to travel that far have come back with some awesome memories of late night, early morning expression sessions in incredible surroundings.
