Mountain Biking in Scotland
Mountain biking in Scotland is massive, so much so
that IMBA has named Scotland as a 'global
superstar' for the past two consecutive years.
You'll find over 20 dedicated mountain biking centres in Scotland with
trails that are carefully designed to withstand the elements, develop your
skills and leave you smiling all the way back to your reward of cakes and
coffee in the on-site cafe (in many but not all centres at
present).
Many centres also adopt a standard grading system to allow you to assess
which trails are suited to your ability - Green (Beginners, Novices
and Families), Blue (Intermediate Bikers), Red (Proficient Bikers) and
Black (Expert Bikers).
And for more experienced bikers, you'll find hundreds of miles of old
cattle droving roads, forestry trails and wilderness tracks to entice
to return and discover more of Scotland's wilder side.
