Barra Power Kiting are based on the Isle of Barra, often described as the jewel of the Hebrides it is the most Westerly inhabited island in the UK.

Due to its' unique geographical location Barra takes advantage of the Atlantic weather systems which produce strong almost constant winds, combine this with the compact size of the island which means you can reach the best kiting locations within a matter of minutes, with beaches suitable for all wind directions.

Power kiting in all its guises is currently one of the world's fastest growing leisure activities and is accessible to all ages and abilities.

Harnessing the power of the wind using a variety of different sized kites you can quickly experience the thrills of sliding along the beach or boosting air. Then graduate on to the kite-buggy or kite-landboard and feel the exhilaration and satisfaction of gliding effortlessly across the sand using only the forces of nature to propel you along.

What we do best:

Barra Power Kiting offer bespoke lessons and courses in power kiting, kite buggying, and kite landboarding, alongside fully supported, guided land and water based kiting safaris through out Barra and the Uists.

Work with small instructor/ client groups 1:2 for instruction, and 1:4 for guiding, guaranteeing personalised client driven sessions (to minimise our impact on the surroundings), with a backdrop of deserted silver sand beaches, turquoise water spectacular topography and a dominating seascape, unique throughout the rest of the UK.
