Get active in Scotland by choosing from our exhilarating range of activities; white water rafting, canoeing, canyoning, duckying, gorge scrambling, rock climbing, abseiling and mountain biking as well as skiing and snowboarding during the winter. Active offer activity days, holidays and training courses. Activities are available to suit individuals, families and groups of all ages and abilities.
Activity holidays and training courses are based at Craigower Lodge Outdoor Centre in Newtonmore. We run weekend and week-long courses to suit novices through to training and assessment courses for instructors. A great outdoor experience awaits you set within the magnificent Cairngorms National Park.
What we do best:
If you enjoy the idea of blasting down the river but not in a big raft, then maybe Duckying is for you. For fast rivers you are given a duckie (fun yak), which is a small inflatable kayak that can fit one or two people. It's great fun because you aren't held inside like a conventional raft. If you fall out - no problem, just damp yourself down and jump back in.Great for beginners as they are virtually unsinkable, in no time you'll get the hang of riding the rapids and mastering the motion manoeuvres.
