Get active in Scotland by choosing from our exhilarating range of activities; white water rafting, canoeing, canyoning, duckying, gorge scrambling, rock climbing, abseiling and mountain biking as well as skiing and snowboarding during the winter. Active offer activity days, holidays and training courses. Activities are available to suit individuals, families and groups of all ages and abilities.
Activity holidays and training courses are based at Craigower Lodge Outdoor Centre in Newtonmore. We run weekend and week-long courses to suit novices through to training and assessment courses for instructors. A great outdoor experience awaits you set within the magnificent Cairngorms National Park.
What we do best:
Scrambling
For the Hillwalker looking for a more adventurous mountain experience, we
have selected some of the finest ridge walks and scrambles in Scotland.
This involves tackling steeper and more exposed ground.
You will need to be fit for hill days of 5-8 hours and be able to cope with
exposed situations.
Scrambling days: Scrambling days are available throughout
Scotland, normally from March to November and are suitable for individuals,
groups and clubs, for groups of 6 or more you can choose the routes and our
instructors will guide you safely to the top.
Scrambling weekends: Scxrambling weekends based at
Craigower Lodge, Newtonmore, Arran, Glencoe, Torridon & Skye or any
other place in Scotland of your choice.
5-7 Day Scrambling Adventures: Our programme of 5-7 day
treks use B&Bs, Hostels and tents, the programme includes the
itineraries listed below, but we will be happy to take you to those places
you have always dreamed of visiting. Torridon Ridges, The Far North, Arran,
Skye, Glencoe, Classic Scrambles week.
Mountain Skills: Mountain Skills Summer & Winter,
Navigation courses Summer & Winter and Winter Skills training
We can provide transport for groups from most towns or cities within
Scotland and airport transfers from Glasgow, Prestwick, Edinburgh &
Inverness Airports.

Newtonmore, despite its remote Highland location is easy to get to by
road via the main A9 trunk road north. There are also good
rail services directly to Newtonmore and air services to
Inverness, which is under an hour's drive away.
The Traveline web site provides timetables for travel
throughout Scotland - both local and national.
