An innovative and world leading project funded by Scottish Enterprise Dumfries and Galloway, Dumfries and Galloway Council, Dumfries and Galloway College, Leader + and other government bodies. Dumfries and Galloway is Scotland's most heavily forested region and these forests are perfect for the sport of sled dog racing. The project has dedicated racing and training trails for the whole of the UK's 400+ mushers to utilise. The trails will host 4 to 5 races per season and will also host the dryland world championship, which will attract the world's top mushers. The trails are perfect for spectators and will offer the chance for people to take a ride with a dog team most days of the year.
What we do best:
Every weekend will see large numbers of sleddogs at the trails. The projects aim is for Dumfries and Galloway to become the premier Sled Dog area in the UK and to help bring the sport of mushing into the publics eye and increase awareness of the sport.
