We are Scotland's National Outdoor Training Centre. Our role is to 'inspire adventure' by making adventure sports accessible, affordable, safe and fun.

We provide top instructors and equipment for beginners, intermediate and advanced. We are located in the heart of the Cairngorms and are in easy reach of all the best adventure venues in Scotland.

All food, accommodation, instruction, equipment and in course transport is provided as part of the course fee.

The main attractions at the Lodge have always been the magnificent mountains, rivers, forests and lochs of the Scottish Highlands but now, thanks to sportscotland investment, we have great indoor facilities as well.

The lodge offers the widest range of outdoor adventure sports training in Scotland including: scrambling, mountain biking, winter mountaineering, ice climbing, rock climbing, hill walking, skiing and ski-touring, river kayaking, sea kayaking, surf kayaking and open (Canadian) canoeing.

What we do best:

Many start climbing on indoor ice walls. However there is then a critical period where they want to move on in the sport and go outdoors. This requires greater knowledge, skills and judgement. Safety becomes a more apparent and real issue but for the more adventurous you can have a go at doing ice climbing.

The second big step in the sport is starting to climb in the lead - increasing the risk but also the challenge and enjoyment. Once leading you can attempt the longer climbs. The ratio of 1:2 means you will benefit from intense instruction and coaching.
