Offering you the opportunity to paddle Scotland's stunning lochs and rivers. We provide both kayaking and canoeing to all age levels and abilities.

Our service is available throughout the country and abroad. We have two operational bases. Our first is in Strathyre, which is in the heart of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Our other base is in Bonnybridge which gives great access to the Forth and Clyde canal system.

We are unique in that we can travel to where ever our needs or your needs take us. All staff are highly trained and qualified for their appropriate disciplines. Standing Waves is approved by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and by the Scottish Canoe Association.

What we do best:

Guided Tours - Trips can be from two hours to five day¿s, we adapt our journeys and trips to suit your availability, budget and requirements. Available in both kayaks and canoes.

Guided River Kayaking & Canoeing - We offer a unique service in which we can help you organise, provide safety cover and help you get the most out of your visit to Scotland.

Rescue Training - We provide safety and rescue training to canoeists and anyone who could be involved in water rescues including the emergency services.

Qualifications - We provide training and assessments to national governing body standards.

Schools - We provide activities to schools as part of the national curriculum as well as part of their outdoor activities programmes.

Outfitting - Do you need to hire equipment for a trip you have or would you prefer to hire from our Strathyre base and paddle along the beautiful Loch Lubnaig?

Consultancy Service - We provide a unique service for all involved in canoeing / kayaking activities as well as though seeking advice on access, safety, locations etc.

"Tour the Park" A unique visit around Scotland's first national park. (Kayak or Canoe, 1-5 days)

"Heart of Northern Ireland" Paddle through the Shannon Waterway in the heart of Northern Ireland. (Kayak or canoe, 3-5 days)

"Czech Republic" Visit the stunning city of Prague and paddle on the stunning Vltava river system. (Kayak or canoe, 3-10 days)

"Ecuador" Whitewater kayak through virgin jungle and experience the power of the Amazon. (Kayak grade 3-5, 10-20 days)

"English lakes" join us while we canoe through the heart of the English lakes. (Canoe grade 1-3, 3-5 days)

"Welsh whitewater" Here we kayak on the hidden gems of the Welsh rivers. (Kayak grades 2-4, days 2-5)

Prices vary depending on numbers, duration & location etc. Lessons start at £8 pp/hour for group lessons. Special rates for school and community groups.
