Wilderness Scotland offers walking, sailing, sea-kayaking, canoeing, mountain-biking and ski-mountaineering adventure holidays in the wild places of Scotland. From hotel-based walking holidays to multi-day sea kayaking expeditions around the islands, our trips venture into Scotland's most pristine and beautiful wilderness areas, providing our clients with an unforgettable experience.
You will experience oustanding scenery, stay in some wonderful places (be it small hotels or wild camps), enjoy sumptuous local produce and learn about the Highlands through stories shared by our knowledge guides. You can also be assured that your holiday has been designed in an environmentally sensitive manner - we hold the Gold Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
What we do best:
Our lodge, guesthouse and small hotel based trips explore some of the most remote and beautiful areas of Scotland. Enjoy superb guided walks in small groups (max size 10) while staying in comfortable and charming accommodation. Our wide range of trips cover many parts of Scotland and are set at different grades of difficulty, ensuring that there is something for everyone. No previous walking experience is needed for these trips but on some trips you will need a good level of fitness as long mountain days can be expected. See the itineraries on our website for the grading of each trip. Walking Expeditions: Join us on a journey through the wildest corners of Scotland. Venture with us to the glens and mountains of Knoydart in the West Highlands, often known as the 'last true wilderness' in Britain, as it is only accessible by boat despite being part of the mainland. Alternatively, strike out onto the high tops on our Cairngorms expedition, with a possible moonlight ascent of Ben Macdui, the second highest mountain in Scotland. No previous camping experience is needed for these trips but you will need a good level of fitness as you will be carrying a full backpack (weighing approx 10-12kg, including your share of a tent) across rough and wild country.Travel Directions
